Mangal Bagh, de-facto leader of Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) has established a
tribe-based militia, which has successfully wrested control of the area from
criminal networks and the central government of Pakistan and has gained control
of approximately three quarters of Pakistan’s Khyber Agency within two years
since 2006. Bagh claims being Taliban but also being an enemy of foreign
mercenaries of Al-Qaida.
